Many developers have seen the damage cheat codes can do to the overall experience of the game. Once you start using one cheat code, it will lead to people using one more, then another, and before you know it that is all they do. Just because it's a right doesn't make it right.Īnyway, doesn't matter really. Many games now being produced have entirely stopped allowing for cheat codes to be used because it's works against the enjoyment of the game. What I am saying is just because it's a choice of freedom, doesn't make it right especially when it will work against what the developers have intended for the game in the first place. If a game is single player, customers should have the right the choose.Ībsolutely not, if you want to keep the cheats then go ahead. If someone wants to ruin the game by spawning the best stuff right away, that's their prerogative. Thing is I have been playing the game like so many others out there from the very beginning (Pre-Early Access), and while I was testing the game for bugs I neglected to take the long road to search for bugs because I could spawn something in whenever I wanted too, and now I am so dependant on it that it's pretty much hard to stop using it.Īnyway, just hoping there will be no cheat codes soon this way I can play from start to when I die (I play permadeath/hardcore).Ĭheers, and thanks for wanting to bring it up. You are right, the first thing I will do is enter spawn cyclops instead of working for it.Įven though I can say no, often times I look at it as "What The Heck" when I need to go deeper to grab something instead of going through the motions of having to resurface grab more air then head back down. I'll have to bring this subject up with the rest of the crew. But I do agree that it can become a bit of a crutch for some players, and I also think it will be pretty weird when we add the big Cyclops if players can just cheat spawn it in. The cheat codes are there to make life easier for the devs, certainly, and also were there to help players get around some particularly nasty bugs.
